A very simple text--the title plus a good many ""No!""s from a recalcitrant young frog, and the punch line, "". . .you didn't say please,"" about sums it up--add lively illustrations of elongated, anthropomorphized frogs combine to make a slight but satisfying easy reader with possible additional use as a book for toddlers. Youngsters should be amused by both the obstinacy and the comic antics: a wide range of emotions are skillfully pictured in the cartoon-like red- and green-tinted drawings.
