Seventeen-year-old Matt Bristow moves into an apartment with his recently divorced father and, by golly, that very day he meets Rebecca Javez, who lives next door with her divorced mother. She makes his ""heart turn over."" From here on, we're subjected to the gradual reconciliation between Matt and his father (""you are the one thing I can salvage from a disastrous marriage""), a rescue of Rebecca from a knife-wielding sex fiend in the laundry room, and Matt's attempt to heal her resultant ""emotional scars"" and help put the ""jigsaw pieces of her life"" back together. Earnest claptrap.
