There are very few quality books for younger readers about basketball, even though the sport is a national favorite among young and old alike. This is probably due to the fact that the game is played at such speed that getting the action down on paper is a major hurdle. The well known anthologist has selected ten of the best in short fiction that features the fast game play as well as good plotting and characterization. The book includes a section from Hirschberg's biography of court great Bob Cousey.
