THE PROOF OF THE PUDDING

An excellent guide to children's reading comes from a well known anthologist and librarian whose experience has provided her with a sound basis for this book. In her discussions of different kinds of books from picture stories up to teen age fiction, Miss Fenner makes clear that she is not concerned with the best books or with what ought to be read, but with the best liked books that have stood the test of time to become the right books for the right children at the right times. A big help to librarians and students as well as to the parents who find the conflicting reading tastes and abilities of their children so confusing.
