LADYBUG AND DOG AND THE NIGHT WALK

That add-on title isn't far off: this wispy trifle is about a dog, yclept Dog, and his friend Ladybug and her seven little cousins--who form a circlet on Dog's head--and their nighttime walk in the meadow and the woods (some natural history, unnatural in this context). Then one little ladybug disappears, Ladybug fetches 19 fireflies; and they assemble on Dog's nose ""like a flashlight""--enabling him to find that little lost ladybug ""fast asleep in some star moss."" Then Dog and Ladybug and the seven little ladybugs and the 19 friendly fireflies all go home and fall asleep. It is, in any case, soporific.
