DANGER! DETECTIVE WORKING

Reid Ainsley is one of the luckiest boys we know for he is the central figure in these somewhat fictionalized episodes that introduce him to several aspects of the New York City police department. Reld's father is a newsman and worried about the inroads TV and the comics have made on his erratic son's life. Taking the situation (and Reid's ambition to be a detective) in hand, he invites Reid on monthly weekends to the city during which the boy meets the employees at police headquarters and comes to know the real work of detecting. Arson detecting, waterfront work, the pickpocket and confidence bureau, balisties, store thefts, recovering missing persons- these are some of the aspects about a field of work which Reid comes to realize is far more patient than dramatic. Good and straight from the shoulder.
