HANDBOOK FOR POISONERS

An overall orientation on poisons (which includes both history and natural history) by the editor introduces a cum laude collection of short stories. Kipling, Hawthorne and Chesterton lend their literary stature, while Anthony Wynne, E. C. Bentley, Miriam Allen De Ford, Irvin S. Cobb, Phyllis Bottome, and R. Austin Freeman are established entertainers. And for nonpareil performance there's Dorothy Sayers' Suspicion Anthony Berkeley's The Avenging Chance, and Agatha Christie's Accident. Precious bane.
