MYCCA'S BABY

by Rinda M. Byers ‧ RELEASE DATE: March 1, 1990

Mycca anticipates the birth of Aunt Rose's first baby--in a story distinguished by sensitively observed details about her dark-eyed family. Rose lives in a trailer and has a job helping the vague old lady next door; Mycca's own family can't afford more children; the protracted delivery leaves Rose tired, ""but her eyes are full of secrets."" The illustrations, with a folk-art flavor, are sturdy, sweet, a little sober--nice.
