ZIC-ZAC: The Crocodile Bird

This Junior Literary Guild selection has the same author, illustrator and format as Raffy and the Honkebeest. It is also laid in Africa, but in the upper reaches of the Nile. The main character is Zic-Zac, an Egyptian spur-wing plover, whose extraordinary job in life is to clean the teeth of Crocsy. He saves his friend from the black natives who are keen to snare a crocodile. This is also an easy-to-read book for the six to nine year olds, but as the pictures fill over half the pages it is listed here. It has already captivated one nine year old boy who calls it ""neat"".
