In this wholly admirable outline and study of the Apocrypha the author very ably accomplishes the purpose he set before himself: ""This book is intended to be a guide for the ordinary reader whose attention has been attracted to the Apocrypha and who desires to know more precisely what it is, why it is important and how best to go about reading it"". This then is a Bible study book for the laity, only that it covers the books not usually included in the Protestant versions of the Bible. They are: Esdras I and II, Tobit, Judith, I and II, Maccabees, Ecclasiasticus, Wisdom of Solomon, Baruch, and the Epistie of Jeremy. The exposition of each book and the interpretation of the importance of each shows the author to be an excellent teacher.
