. . . or, tangier, I Was an Emmetsville Eggplant. Emmetsville is a dying town and the basketball team faces extinction when the Tremblais triplets arrive. Six foot four with ideas to match, Pierre and Paul and Pat convince Johnny Dace, dashed by their dispirited performance on the court, that Emmetsville has a future--in eggplants. But if the town is to make a name for itself, the team must win the All-State Championship, and the triplets must play ball. Johnny tells it fast, juggling basketball competition on the one hand, the eggplant campaign on the other, with some funny interaction, until the Emmettsville Eggplants sweep the field and Emmettsville's first eggplants are seeded. Not as nimble as The Iron Arm of Michael Glenn but sure to come through with kids.
