AGAINST THE PUBLIC INTEREST

The theft of some plans for a new bomber sets in motion the sub rosa investigation by W. and his subordinate, Carrigan, and it ends aboard the plane manufacturer's yacht where a recently prison paroled traitor, a questionable security risk, and a woman all help to eliminate each other. The final disposition of the evidence ""in the public interest"" completes a tale of cold spies in high places. It is accomplished with considerable hushhushism although it is at times laconic to the point of being enigmatic.
