THE GRACIOUS CALLING OF THE LORD

Bringing people to Christ is so fundamental to the Church's life and work that when a man writes a good book about the rationale of evangelism, we give thanks. Here is the book! Nor does the Rev. Robert John Versteeg stop being an evangelist when he writes. The very reading of this volume is a soul-searching, heart-warming experience which makes a man reappraise his own relationship to Jesus Christ. The style is joyous and eager. Mr., Versteeg has obviously written for a large audience. Anyone who can understand the average sermon on Sunday can read the book with profit, but it will still be a boon to the man who wants his sermons to have reaching power, or the worker, ordained or lay, who seeks converts and wonders why more do not accept the invitation. There is no weak part of the book, but especially interesting is the author's treatment of those who refuse the gracious calling of the Lord.
