Don't you know that thunder is just the Milky Way Patrol testing their cannons?"" asks John Bluejay of T. Tyler Toad, who has jumped into a hole at the first clap. Mrs. Raccoon, C.C. Chipmunk, and Mr. Badger offer similar whimsical explanations designed to appease Tyler's fears. The last of them, which attributes the noise to the Great Toad in the sky, does draw Tyler out of the hole. But then another gigantic clap sends not only Tyler but the whole cowering crew back in. Chorao illustrates this feeble tale with unfocused, petal-pretty, rainbow-colored scenes that are cued by Crowe's fanciful notions of thunder. The baby-bonneted bunny, horn-tooting butterfly, doe-eyed doe, and other teddy-bear-cute animals who parade across the sky undoubtedly make this particular thunder storm seem innocuous; but they'll never stand up to the real thing.
