CANADA A TO Z

Another well paced and pertinent guide from the author of Africa, South America and Asia A to Z and travel editor of Cue magazine, who briskly and competently surveys the second largest nation on the planet. Outsized only by the Soviet Union, our neighbor to the North has nineteen million inhabitants living in ten provinces and two territories. Mr. Kane gives a brief background to Canada, goes on to general tourist information, then to the specifics of touring in the provinces and territories from Alberta to the Yukon. In each case he specifies the best times for a visit, transportation, having a drink, further information as prefatory to remarks on politics and history, sights and creature comforts (restaurants and hostelries). This book presents a friendly face to those eight and one half million Americans who cross the border every year. Only cross-country travel time is missing.
