PETER OPENS THE DOOR

Small type- and more of it than the picture-story book class usually provides-places this in the Read Aloud class. But definitely it is for the very youngest in that group, three to five year olds. Peter is lonely, and wants a boy to play with. He is promised a surprise and goes to the door every time the bell rings. In this way, small readers share the familiar routine of the day's happenings,- newspaper boy, milk delivery boy, garbage collector, mailman, and so on. And finally- a boy cousin! Mildred Bronson has supplied pictures in flat color for every page of text.
