They are among an international galaxy of thinkers whose inspirational statements are collected in this volume, a sequel to the author's 1963 Faith Is A Star. As might be expected amid such heterodoxy, the visions vary. Some writers preach the gospel of work; others the power of prayer; a few, like U Thant and Dr. King, criticize men for failing to act on their beliefs. Most, however, write of the direct experience of religion in their personal lives, concluding that faith can move mountains. Each statement is prefaced by a brief biographical sketch.
