THE SPACE GODS REVEALED: A Close Look At the Theories of Erich von Daniken

This is no more a ""close look"" at the theories of the world's most popular UFO guru than Von Daniken's books are serious examinations of phenomena like the Piri Re'is map or the Nazca Plain ""air landing strips"" in Peru--for Story uses precisely the same kind of careless logic, ad hominem arguments, and carelessly substantiated second-hand information for which he criticizes Von Daniken. As for Ezekiel's vision of God (Von Daniken's helicopter), or the erection of the pyramids, or the Easter Island statues, Story provides alternate but not necessarily more convincing explanations of these creations--which is not to imply that either of their theories is convincing. Worse is his slipshod denunciation of things like the pi ratio embedded in the Great Pyramid of Cheops (now accepted by reputable scientists)--which serves only to make the reader question both his sources and logic. In truth, Story and Von Daniken are brothers under the skin: exploiters of the strange things on 'heaven and earth that we are only beginning to dream of, let alone explain.
