FURTHER ADVENTURES OF ALBERT THE DRAGON

Albert, the vegetarian dragon with scruples about frightening people, first appeared in Albert the Dragon (1961, p. 669, J-231). His very good friend is Tony, a boy of seven or eight years, who is very careful of Albert's sensitive feelings. In these 8 short stories, Tony usually works as Albert's liaison with the world outside his snug cave. Written at the third and fourth grade level, the nonsense is very British, but it survives the trans-Atlantic crossing in good order. The illustrations are swift pen and ink sketches that show a slightly befuddled dragon on his way in and out of the muddles.
