BITE THE HAND

Gridley Nelson again, professionally as well as socially enmeshed in the case which begins with Richard Hildebrand's apparent but pointless blackmailing of his wife, removes that suspicion when he is first the victim of a hit and run car, then-in a hospital- again a target for murder. His wife, perhaps too lovely to be innocent, her friend Lilith, and Lilith's unsavory contacts amplify the case and justify Nelson's conclusions.... Competent.
