A DOG FOR SUSIE

This is an original approach to a standard brand situation:-Susie is going to have a pet, at first she cannot make up her mind what she wants- and then, with a dog the answer, she cannot make up her mind what kind of dog. The way in which all sorts of dogs are shown her at the pet shop -- tall, short, long, small, big, etc. No one is just right; she likes them all, but... It isn't until she finds a dog that needs her that she makes up her mind. Susie is a very natural little girl -- and her problem a recognizable one. The story is told in an easy vocabulary but in the telling there is nothing stereotyped. And at the end, spot drawings of all the dogs Susie saw are identified for those who want to learn their names. Betsy Warren's pictures adds a natural and slightly humorous touch.
