CHICA

Going up a notch in age level from her other stories- Bobby and His Band, Tippy etc., Sally Scott has gone West as well, for a brisk tale of a boy and a horse and the friendship they finally form. Nine year old Billy has mixed feelings when his father- who runs a supply depot- brings Chica home. Though she is expertly trained as a cow pony, she is underfed, maliciously coy and loves to get the other horses into mischief. But Billy persists in winning her affections and Chica's strong points are all channelled in the right direction -- in time to help avert a forest fire.
