This is a story of a little known Australian animal, the duck-billed platypus, and of how he made friends with a duck, a beaver, a muskrat. The story-pleasant but undistinguished- is handicapped by its format,- the gaudy, cheap looking illustrations, reminiscent of the comics, but without their action quality, and the size which makes the book lock like a book for younger children than the content indicates.
