(Here, though, the questions are provided at the back of the book.) But big sister Amy, who tells this, decides to take Cleveland down a peg by showing that, though he knows all the answers, only she knows the nanswers. Her demonstration nanswers, then, consist of a rhymed list of eight things an alligator is not: "". . . It's not a monster in a box/ Nor a tiger wearing socks./ Next, I'd like to make it clear/ it's not a dog who loves root beer. . . ."" In the story Cleveland is impressed. Others might be mildly tickled by the concept of nanswers, but less so by Amy's examples. As big-sister snow-jobs go, hers can't come near Lucy Van Pelt's.
