Time says that Steinberg's name is among ""top names in the wry gallery of U. S. satiric artists"". Here -- for that insatiable market of cartoon fans, is his first collection -- a selection of some 200 drawings, with occasional captions -- drawings that have made him familiar to readers of New Porker, PM, Liberty, Mademoiselle. A cross between Thurber and Bemelmans -- not quite so consciously simplified as the former: About half of the drawings were made when he was overseas.
