That's no lady -- that's my wife"" provides a keynote to this tale of murder, jewel robbery, extra-marital infidelities and as odd an assortment of uncongenial folks as any English village could produce. Connie was virtually hypnotized into being a publicity hound by a phony psychologist; her husband, newly rich, thought he was getting a shrinking violet -- and found himself saddled with a tiger lily. And a lot of people had opportunity and motive for both the jewel robberies and the murder which considerably confused the issue for the local police and Scotland Yard. Devious but not distinctive. Crime Club.
