PETER AND THE WOLF

Serge Koussevitzky wrote the music for the orchestral narrative and brought the old Russian folk tale into the limelight. Prokofieff has retold the story, using the musical themes throughout, and linking the legend of Peter and his friend the bird, and of how they caught the wolf that ate their friend the duck, with the music and the pictures by Warren Chappell. This seems to me a happier combination than below.
