RUSSIAN SCIENCE IN THE 21ST CENTURY

This text consists of interviews with 25 leading Soviet Academicians in science and technology who were asked by Pravda reporters to forecast the year 2007 in terms of their specialties. It clearly presents the single minded interest of Russian intelligensia in applying all their energy to the construction of a super-efficient super-comfortable society and, to some extent, explains the already prodigious achievements of Russia in technological fields. Although this is somewhat journalistic, it is of primary concern to those interested in the shape of tomorrow's world and in technological climates, other than our own.
