WHERE'S KIT?

A bumpy ride over the Indiana sand dunes to the family summer cottage causes Kit the cat to dash from her box prison into the wide open spaces. Karen and Paul spend the next two days searching for her- with time off for swimming, sailing, and camping out. The reward notice they post in the general store brings no results but a thunderstorm sends Kit scurrying back to the safety of the cottage. There is nothing distinctive about the story. It serves as a vehicle for describing the many activities available for family recreation on the Indiana dunes. Since the area is slated for possible destruction, the book is in quiet support of the bill to create a national park there.
