SHIRLEY TEMPLE'S STORY BOOK

There is something blatantly presumptuous about this anthology of familiar fairy-tales. As there has never been any problem about the availability of such stories as Rip Van Winkle. Beauty and the Beast, Rumplestiltskin, etc., and since there is nothing in the least distinguished about the particular versions offered here, one wonders if, perhaps, it is the name of the anthologist, her reputation as a star, and her recent reappearance as the Master of Ceremonies on a children's program, rather than the stories themselves, which is the commodity.
