A revised edition of the anthology first published in 1942, this should be welcomed back in print as a fine working collection of some of the best writing for children from 7 to 12. Covering a wide variety of different kinds of stories, Mrs. Grueaberg includes poetry and prose, adventure stories, humor, make-believe, Bible and rolk tales. Along with authors like Caroline Haywood, Frances Lattimore who are representative of the more recent work included, there is Walter de la Mare, A. A. Milne and Dr. Seuss. Hugh Lofting and old favorites like ""The Three Bears"" and Rumplestiltskin- all come together for a collection that promises good hours of good reading.
