HOW TO MAKE A DINOSAUR

. . . more precisely, how to make three dinosaurs--a brontosaurus, stegosaurus, and a tyrannosaurus rex--out of styrofoam and papier-mache and from printed patterns which one is advised to trace but might be tempted to simply cut out of the book. Considering the small size of some of the pattern pieces we'd imagine that the beginning craftsmen Kalina addresses (he assumes they have no previous experience with papier-mache and are too young to use a paring knife without supervision) will have their hands full. In any case, the three do-by-rote projects, with one-page squibs introducing the real life models, would be more appropriately placed in a magazine than between hard covers.
