THE RESTLESS VOYAGE

A revision of A Voyage Round The World from 1806 to 1812 by Archibald Campbell, which was published in Scotland in 1816, this has been issued to present the author's intent to tell the truth. Believing the first and subsequent editions were nice-Nellied for the Scotch Presbyterian audience, and finding evidence of this in the records of the grounds for the dismissal of Archie and his wife, in 1819, from the Cornwall Mission School in Litchfield County, Conn., the editor has restored the story to come closer to the original. The story of a boy who ran away to sea, lost his feet in the Arctic, finally reached the South Seas to which he was consciously traveling, where he was befriended by the natives as well as the Botany Bay convicts. This makes an interesting salt water tale, as well as a period account, and is for the collector of true sea adventure.
