THE BIRTHDAY OF LITTLE JESUS

Here is a help for the mother who is baffled by the demand --""Tell us a story about Jesus"". For Sterling North has made an imaginary story about seven year old Jesus as the good shepherd, going forth to seek the sheep that is lost. And on his return, carrying the new born lamb, his mother Mary rewards him by telling him the story of his birth. One misses the sense of time and place and background which might so easily have been integral to the story, but children may feel that it could have happened anywhere, any time. This could be read to themselves by second year readers -- or read aloud to younger case.
