Antique hunters who have bowed to the recent vogue in Victorian furniture and objects will find the author's comments fascinating and instructive. However, Miss Shull gives little time to discussing actual furnishings; she chats only briefly about chairs; couches, etc., saving her breath for sleigh bells, old marbles, fans, parasols, music boxes, clocks, paintings, and other paraphernalia. The information is more valuable than the many illustrations; although there are some 220, some are miniscule and many are muzzy.
