LIONS ON THE HUNT

Factual information incorporated into a good tale of a young African lion, who loses his mother by a Zulu arrow, and has to shift for himself. The story has enough happening to give it pace, but one feels all the time that Waldeck, who told how he came to be an explorer in his inimitable On Safari, writes with authority of the ways of the wild. Sur-Dah has to learn things the hard way; but at the close he establishes his right to be King of the Lions.
