A fruitless quest for a dinosaur yields a Thanksgiving turkey instead, in a long picture story that appeals to budding sexism, strains for hilarity in the climactic capture, and -- worst of all -- is dull from start to finish. Jerry sees dinosaur bones in a museum, is told that they are ""so old they have turned to stone,"" and decides to go fossil hunting in tire neighborhood park. Cathy, a pesty neighbor, insists on coming along; she is frightened when the children discover strange animal tracks in the park, but she agrees to help Jerry catch the ""dinosaur"" when he promises to buy her a triple scooper ice cream cone and a dozen candy bars. Their prey turns out to be a publicity turkey escaped from the supermarket -- ""'But I helped you catch it,' Kathy said. 'So you have to keep your promise.' What a pest!
