MY MOTHER IS A VIOLENT WOMAN

13 year old Thomas Dorrington Wadleton, whose father is a U. S. Cavalry Major and whose mother writes, has red hair, is Irish and explosive, tells of his life on army posts, in school, traveling, and generally living with two distinct personalities. Schools, horseback riding, his mother's soapbox activities, her intolerance of stupidity, her insistence that Tommy, who does not like to fight, beat every opponent, her ideas here and there on drinking, spending money, etc. make up this young and entertaining account. This lacks the sophistication of the Abbes, for instance, but is poised and pleasantly amusing.
