THE MAGIC CRAYON: Drawing from Simple Shapes and Forms

The advice--observe, sketch, draw from memory--is sound enough but the pictorial development is downright silly sleight of brush. Three circles make a snowman, curves make a ""hungry alligator,"" ""a tiny timid squirrel,"" a potato makes a (potato-head) dog, ""Swiss cheese could be a giraffe,"" and worse--""RABBIT (when spelled out) becomes a real rabbit"" (with R-shaped head). Quick tricks for a chalk talk and about as insubstantial.
