TORNADO'S BIG YEAR

**This is about as good as robust, realistic early teen age stories come and for those who have followed through on Tornado's other adventures (see Tornado Jones, and Tornado Jones on Sentinel Mountain) these further yarns will be just right. In junior high and hopeful of playing football for the North Platte team, Tornado suffers a temporary disappointment when a fire causes him and his grandmother to move to nearby Wheatley. With a different crowd of boys to get used to, Tornado finds more than one problem on his hands. There is also a new D.P. family in the vicinity and when their mysterious activities lead to a charge of sheep stealing Tornado's friendship with them is sorely tried. A rather pat solution ends the mystery but the side incidents at school and at home that range from a team member's cheating in math classes to general growing up under Gram's useful and often humorous guidance, make warm reading.
