The author of An American Doctor's Odyssey gives his own program for personal health. Not just another book about physiology, anatomy, diet, exercise and general health, but a book which links the intricate machinery of our bodies so closely to the modern findings concerning diet and health, that it gives point to the rules he lays down for well being. Through these pages, one learns the hows and whys back of good health. He explodes a good many fads and substitutes common sense programs. In the process he may step on some toes, but his program emerges as matter of fact and workable for the average man and woman. Not light reading --there is very little personal history, though now and again he tells anecdotes to illustrate his points. Not a book for general reading, but a book which gives the general outlines of a normal way of life, with the scientific basis for the rules. Heiser's name should help the sale.
