Once again the college girls of Lawrence House-with the exception of their peculiar idiosyncracies (without which there would be no book)-show themselves to be as exemplary a brood of collegiates as ever were presented to the teen age reader. In this episode, Letitia Canfield, the prim daughter of a Latin professor, becomes infatuated with her class teacher, but on the demise of her parent, is able to write this off as an adolescent crush and accept the attentions of an eligible, gifted young man who happens to be called Lancelot. A mystery involving poison pen letters runs through this staccato text with its curiously non-dimensional characters and its atmosphere of growth without tears.
