CUNNING IS BETTER THAN STRONG

What Lee, a Georgia country child, wants more than anything are a possum and a raccoon. And the age old parable of the fox and the hare applies in his search for the pets as he finds that he can achieve his wish more through cunning than might. But the real lesson Lee learns is that wild animals must not be caged, and it is in a spirit of triumph that he is able to relinquish his long-sought-after prize. Virginia Ormsby, who has written previously for a younger age group acquits herself admirably in this story which combines credible action with a host of colorful local and domestic details.
