PORTRAIT OF MEXICO

The pictorial record of Mexican history and people as traced in 249 Rivera murals and canvasses. Wolfe gives brief text of Mexican life, customs, geography, indicating the plates where examples may be found. He then presents an exhaustive history of the country up to the present day of Cardena's dictatorship, with a forecast of the future. A grand job, intelligent, up-to-date background book for time spent in Mexico, but definitely not a casual travel book.
