Scarcely more than novelette in sixe, this is a charming fragment- an idyll of regional and period flavor. The setting-the Erie Canal, when four miles per hour was an alarming speed. The story- the four days on the canal and the brief and glorious honeymoon on a farm near Niagara Falls; the characters, the blissful young couple, very human, very alive; and the rich canvas of canalboat and waterside characters. The fl of the times, the panorama of the canal will linger long in memory.
