THE SECRET HISTORY OF THE WAR -- 2 vols. boxed

An exciting and absorbing book -- released with little warning or fanfare -- and king a wallop. By the time this report reaches you, reviews will have appeared -- so we simply went to go on record as urging you to give this book due consideration, despite the price that will curtl its distribution. Root, a newspaperman of unusual types of varied experience, working with the French journalist, Lazareff, has accumulated a vast amount of information on the secret diplomacy, the seamy side of international politics, the personalities behind the scenes, the hidden corners where lurk dangerous enemies. He's dug back into the period when war was upon us --he's studied the scene in warring and neutral countries -- he's thrown light on inexplicable happenings (nd on much that had not been revealed). It's a book to skim -- and then to return to for closer, and continually revealing reading and study. Don't overlook it.
