DOLPHIN ADVENTURE: A Tree Story

Diving off the coast of Florida, the author--responding to a clear nonverbal request from the patents of a baby dolphin that had become entangled in a fish line and hook--was able, with the parents' assistance, to free the baby. While his narrative is sometimes redundant and slips into anthropomorphism, Grover is a persuasive story-teller. Fowler's soft, b&w drawings are expressive, capturing the drama of this true adventure. Despite minor stylistic problems, a slim, exciting ""chapter book"" that should appeal to a wide audience of younger readers.
