THE BIGGER GAME

When the Kouleans, a high school football team, are invited to play in a national competition, they are faced with more than tactical obstacles. For behind the big exhibition game in New York, lies a network of complicated and relentless experimentation: a psychological test to observe a team's reaction under pressure. Despite the gruelling ordeal, good sportsmanship and gridiron determination win out and the Kouleans, led by their staunch coach, Rocky McCune, prove themselves to be a team of champions. The facade of psychological testing is a new twist, but it is doubtful whether it really serves a valid purpose in this fundamentally routine story. A marriage in which the two partners limp along back to back.
