A HOLE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA

A scientist-engineer, an expert who is directing the project, has written an account of the forthcoming attempt to drill down below the ocean and bring up cores of the earth's mantle. He describes the history of the scheme, the purpose and the methods which will be used. Although a valuable book, semi-technical throughout, it suffers from a certain dullness which will attract fewer readers than its content merits.
