THE NOTCH ON THE KNIFE

Retired (not from any kind of action at the close -- much to the surprise of readers of this continuity) Sir Charles Russell goes to the assistance of another old friend and ""old master"" in one of those middle European countries whose politics are much more subtle than their black bread and sour cream. And then there's the fact that there's iron in the mountains or is it gold in those hills? In any case Sir Charles' bearing is as firm as ever and the intrigue is reasonably exciting and most self-possessed.
